How attracting people to your website boosts your brand (and tips on how to up your website game)
For business owners all over the world having a website plays an important role in creating a deeper connection with your followers. Not only does it allow for you to get to know your audience better, but it also works as a great way to show them that your brand is reliable, reputable and professional.
Understanding the fundamentals of why it’s important to have a website for your brand is essential in helping ensure your current and future success, but simply having a website isn’t enough to grow your following and your business.
Having a website that’s attractive, personable, easy to navigate and easy to access is what can help you grow your brand and show people that you know what you’re talking about!
But you may be asking yourself, how do I make my site attractive to my audience? It’s actually much simpler than you’d might think.
Make yourself known.
First and foremost, you should always make sure to put your website onto all of your social media pages. Whether it be Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or Pinterest, doing this allows for people to easily find more about you and your brand.
Include a CTA (Call to Action) in your posts.
A CTA tells people how they can access your brand’s products or services. It tells your audience exactly what action to take and how to take it. This ensures easy accessibility amongst your users and essentially does all the hard work for them. The most common CTA is often seen as “Buy Now!” A few other examples include: “Subscribe,” “Get started,” “Sign up,” “Learn more,” and “Try for free.”
For those of you who have blogs…
Be sure to highlight blog topics in your regularly scheduled social media posts. Doing this will direct people to your website if they’re interested in learning more. This is a great, yet subtle way to pique your audience’s interests and navigate them to your site.
Sharing your blog articles onto other social media platforms such as Facebook and Linked In also gives you a better chance at directing traffic to your website. Both of these sites have evolved into amazing networking tools and adhere to promoting you and your business which means they’re great tools to use to market yourself, your values and your brand.
While marketing your brand plays a large role in directing people to your website, keeping your audience interested is just as important to build reputability.
Make your site fast and responsive.
Now more than ever people will be browsing your website on their phones vs. a desktop. This means your site needs to be accessible and viewable across numerous device platforms whether it be a phone, laptop, desktop or tablet. To make your site fast and responsive be sure that your website pages are as technically optimized as possible for a lower bounce rate.
Check your website bounce rate.
If you already have a website, you’ll want to pay attention to your website’s bounce rate. Your bounce rate is the percentage of people who visit the face of your site, only to leave it rather than exploring other pages or clicking a CTA. A great bounce rate is usually 40% or below, if it is above 60% it can mean that your website needs improvement. You can check your website bounce rate through Google Analytics!
Share the love.
Another great way to maintain traffic is to offer digital freebies that can only be accessed through your website. Who says no to something that’s free? Some ideas for some great digital freebies include behind the scenes footage, access to an exclusive group like through Facebook, a free consultation, an audio transcript or file and much more.
Capture someone’s attention immediately through a pop-up! Offer them something they can’t resist and ask for the user’s email address. Email lists are the bread and butter to marketing. A great email list will help supplement all of your marketing efforts.
If you’re looking for a way to grow your business and promote yourself as someone who’s professional, reliable and relevant, creating and maintaining a great website is one of the first steps in doing so. Good luck!
